Connect an AI

Use SignMaster from the AI you already use

Connect an AI adds SignMaster to Claude or ChatGPT. Ask what's waiting on you, start a contract from a template or remind a slow signer, right from the chat. Anything that emails other people waits for your approval inside SignMaster.

What you can ask

  • Look things up. What's waiting on you, where an envelope stands (an envelope is one send: one or more documents going to one or more signers), your templates, a contact, this month's usage, or a link to a signed copy.
  • Start drafts. A new envelope from one of your templates, or from a PDF at a web address. Drafts stay drafts; nothing goes to anyone.
  • Save contracts it drafts as templates. Ask Claude or ChatGPT to draft a contract, and it lands in SignMaster as a template with a field on every blank. Check the wording before you send it: the AI wrote it.
  • Send, remind or void. The AI asks, and SignMaster holds the request until you approve it.

Nothing sends until you approve

  1. 1

    You ask

“Remind Grace about the Elm Street contract.”

  2. 2

    SignMaster holds it

The request is stored in SignMaster with exactly who gets what, and the AI tells you it's waiting for your approval.

  3. 3

    You approve or deny

Open Settings › Connect an AI, check the request and press Approve or Deny. A request expires if nobody acts on it.

  4. 4

    The AI confirms

Once you approve, the AI asks again, gets the result and tells you it's done.

It works as you, and nothing more

When you connect, you sign in to SignMaster, check which workspace the AI will use and untick any permission you don't want it to have: reading envelopes, changing envelopes, reading templates, contacts or documents. The AI gets your role's access within those permissions, checked on every request, and a viewer's connection can never change anything. Every connected app is listed in Settings › Connect an AI, ready to disconnect.

How to connect

  1. 1

    Copy the address

In SignMaster, open Settings › Connect an AI. It shows the connector address and the setup steps for each app.

  2. 2

    Add it to your AI

In Claude, add SignMaster as a custom connector. In ChatGPT, create a connector in developer mode, with OAuth sign-in.

  3. 3

    Allow access

A SignMaster page opens. Sign in, check what the AI may do, and choose Allow access. You land back in the chat, connected.

Which apps work

Claude and ChatGPT work today. Gemini and Copilot are coming soon: they sign in to custom servers in a way SignMaster doesn't support yet. Connect an AI is on every plan today. Anything you send through it uses an envelope like any other send, so Free's 3 a month still apply.

Want an assistant inside SignMaster instead? That's Alana. Building your own integration? The developer API covers embedded signing and envelope status on Crew and Company.

Questions? Answers.

Can the AI send documents on its own?

No. Sending, reminders and voids wait in SignMaster until you approve them. You see exactly who gets what before you press Approve.

What can the AI see?

Only what your role allows, within the permissions you ticked when you connected. A viewer's connection is read-only.

How do I disconnect an AI?

Open Settings › Connect an AI and choose Disconnect next to the app. It loses access straight away.

Is this the same as Alana?

No. Alana is the assistant built into SignMaster. Connect an AI lets an outside AI you already use, like Claude or ChatGPT, work with your SignMaster account.
