Hand over the phone. They sign right there.
Some signatures happen across a table, not across an inbox. In-person signing turns your phone, iPad or laptop into a signing pad for the person in front of you, with the same consent step, audit trail and certificate as a signature sent by email.

How it works
In-person signing starts from an envelope, SignMaster's word for one send: one or more documents going to one or more signers. Anyone not in the room still gets their own link.
- 1
Send the envelope
Add the document, the signers and their fields as usual, then send. Once it's out, any signer whose turn it is can sign in person.
- 2
Choose Sign in person
Pick the signer who's with you. In the iPhone and iPad app it's in the envelope's actions; on the web it's on the envelope page.
- 3
Hand it over
The signer reads and accepts the e-signature consent, then fills and signs each field with the device guiding them, one field at a time.
- 4
Take it back
In the app, leaving signing mode takes your Face ID, Touch ID or passcode, or a PIN you set if the device has none. On the web, you confirm the handback before your account comes back.
Built for the kitchen table
- Locked until you're backIn the app, signing mode fills the screen and can't be swiped away. The customer never lands in your other documents.
- In person and by link, togetherOne homeowner signs on your iPad, the other from a link at work. Both signatures land in the same envelope.
- Your turn, right afterIf you're the next signer, the app takes you straight to your own signature once you have the device back.
- The same record as emailThe certificate notes that the person signed in person and who hosted, alongside the time, IP address and browser.
- A copy before you stand upWhen the envelope is complete, every party gets the signed PDF by email. In the app you can also share, email or print it on the spot.
- Saved signatures for youDraw or type your own signature once and reuse it when you countersign, on the web and in the app.
Who uses it
Contractors close at the kitchen table: roofers, HVAC techs and remodelers get the contract or change order signed before they leave. Property managers sign the move-in checklist with the tenant in the unit. Real estate agents sign at the listing appointment, and insurance agencies sign walk-in clients at the desk.
Plans
In-person signing is on every plan, including Free. It uses an envelope like any other send: 3 a month on Free, unlimited on Solo, Crew and Company. Compare plans.
Good to know
- The Face ID and passcode lock is in the iPhone and iPad app. The web version asks you to confirm the handback, without a passcode.
- Each in-person session is for one signer. For a second person on the same device, start another session when they're up.
- There's no offline mode. The device needs a connection while the customer signs.
- There's no Android app. Android phones and tablets use in-person signing in the browser.
Questions? Answers.
Is signing in person as valid as signing by email?
It goes through the same consent step and produces the same certificate and audit trail, and the same e-signature laws apply. See are electronic signatures legal.
Can two people sign in person on one device?
Yes, one after the other. Start a session for the first signer, take the device back, then start one for the next.
What stops the customer from opening my other documents?
In the app, only your Face ID, Touch ID, passcode or PIN ends signing mode. On the web, the signer only sees that envelope, and you confirm the handback before your account comes back.
Does the customer get a copy?
Yes. When everyone has signed, each party gets the sealed PDF and its certificate of completion by email.
