The best e-signature app for a small business, compared fairly

There's no single best e-signature app, only the best one for how your business signs. This guide compares six of them on what a small team actually pays and gets, using each company's own pages as of October 2026. Yes, we make one of them. We've kept the facts to what each vendor publishes, and we say where another app is the better pick.

What to compare before you pick

  • Price for your whole team, not the per-user headline. A team of 5 on a per-user plan costs 5 times the sticker price.
  • Send limits. Some plans cap how many documents you can send for signature; others don't.
  • In-person signing, if customers sign in front of you. Some apps put it on higher plans.
  • Mobile apps, for you, not your signers. Signers sign from a link with every app here.
  • Templates, bulk send and branding, and which plan each one starts on.
  • Languages your signers read.

SignMaster calls one send an envelope: one or more documents going to one or more signers. DocuSign uses the same word; signNow counts invites.

List prices for five people, October 2026

signNow Business is the cheapest here by a wide margin, but it includes 10 signature invites a month on monthly billing or 100 a year on annual billing, then $0.96 per extra invite. Dropbox Sign's pricing page asks teams of five or more to contact sales, so a real quote may differ. Adobe sells its team plans on annual terms only.

Send limits

  • SignMaster: unlimited envelopes on every paid plan; Free sends 3 a month.
  • DocuSign Standard: 100 envelopes per user a year on annual plans, 10 per user a month on monthly billing.
  • Dropbox Sign Standard: unlimited signature requests.
  • Adobe Acrobat for teams: unlimited e-signatures on team plans.
  • signNow Business: 10 invites a month or 100 a year, then $0.96 each.
  • PandaDoc: not compared here; check its pricing page for your plan.

Which one fits which business

signNow: the lowest price for light senders

If you send a handful of documents a month, signNow Business costs the least, with unlimited users on a flat price. Watch the invite count: busy months add $0.96 per extra invite, and bulk send starts on Business Premium.

Adobe Acrobat Sign: if you live in Acrobat

Adobe bundles e-signatures with its PDF tools, with unlimited e-signatures on team plans. It suits offices that already edit PDFs in Acrobat every day. Scanning is in the separate Adobe Scan app, and in-person signing needs Acrobat Sign Solutions.

Dropbox Sign: if your files live in Dropbox

Unlimited signature requests on Standard, 22 signing languages including Spanish, and bulk send for up to 250 signers. Its mobile signing runs through the Dropbox app.

DocuSign: the most signer languages

DocuSign lists 44 signing languages and apps for iOS and Android, with reusable templates on every plan. The trade-offs for a small team are per-user pricing, the envelope allowance on Standard, and bulk send and API access on Business Pro.

PandaDoc: if you build proposals

PandaDoc is built around proposals and sales documents. Starter caps templates at 5, and in-person signing, bulk send and branding start on Business.

SignMaster: for teams that sign in person and in the field

One price for 5 people, unlimited envelopes, in-person signing on every plan, scanning, and signing pages in 6 languages. The gaps: no Android app, no payments, no PKI digital certificate on the PDF, and fewer signer languages than DocuSign or Dropbox Sign.

How to decide in an afternoon

  1. 1

    Count last month's sends

If it's a handful, a low-allowance plan is fine. If it's dozens, unlimited sends matter more than the sticker price.

  2. 2

    Price your real team

Multiply per-user prices by your headcount, and add the plan you'd need for in-person signing or bulk send.

  3. 3

    Try your own contract

Before you commit, send your most common document to yourself and a colleague, and see which app you'd want to use every day. SignMaster's Free plan and 14-day Crew trial need no card.
