In order or all at once

  • In order: each signer gets the document only after the people before them finish. Signers can share a step, so two people sign at once before the next person gets it.
  • All at once: every signer gets it right away and signs whenever they like.

When order matters

Use an order when one person's signature depends on another's. A customer signs a contract before the owner countersigns. Tenants sign before the landlord. An employee signs before HR. That way the last signer only signs a version everyone else has already accepted.

In SignMaster you set the order on the Recipients & order step. A signer who opens their link early sees that it's not their turn yet. Reminders and a sign-by date keep each step moving.

Can two people sign at the same step?

Yes. In SignMaster, choose In order, then mark a signer as the same turn as the one above. People who share a number sign together before the next turn starts.
