Signers and other recipients

Not everyone on an envelope (one send of one or more documents) has to sign. In SignMaster, a recipient is either a signer, who fills in and signs their fields, or someone who receives a copy without signing. Only signers appear on the certificate of completion, with the details of what they applied.

What a signer does

  • Opens a link from their email on any phone or computer, with no account.
  • Enters an access code first, if the sender set one.
  • Agrees to use electronic records and signatures, or declines.
  • Fills in their fields and adopts a signature, in English or another of SignMaster's 6 signer languages.
  • Gets the signed PDF by email once everyone has signed.

When several people sign, the signing order decides who goes when.

Can a signer decline to sign?

Yes. A signer can choose Decline instead of signing and add an optional reason. The sender is notified, and the decline is recorded.
